Your logo is often the first impression people have of your brand. It should be memorable, meaningful, and timeless.
Step 1: Define your brand’s vibe
Before jumping into logo design, ask:
- What feeling do I want my brand to evoke?
- Do I want my brand to feel bold, feminine, corporate, fun, or luxurious?
This will help you decide whether to go for:
- Minimalist logos (simple, timeless designs)
- Handwritten logos (personal, creative brands)
- Geometric logos (modern, structured brands)
Step 2: Choose a logo type
- Text-based (Wordmark) – Just your brand name (e.g., Google)
- Lettermark – Initials only (e.g., HBO)
- Symbol-based – A graphic without text (e.g., Apple)
- Combination mark – Text + graphic (e.g., Nike)
Step 3: Keep It Simple
Your logo should look good small and large, in color and black & white. Avoid clutter, less is more.
Pro Tip: Test your logo by placing it on mockups (business cards, websites, social media) before finalizing.
