How to decide on your brand fonts, without overthinking It

How to decide on your brand fonts, without overthinking It

Fonts play a huge role in how professional (or amateur) your brand looks. A carefully chosen font palette creates consistency and brand recognition.

Step 1: Choose a Primary Font (Your Signature Style)

Your main font should be:
✔ Readable
✔ Aligned with your brand personality
✔ Versatile (looks good on websites, social media & print)

Examples:

  • Elegant brands → Serif fonts
  • Modern brands → Sans-serif fonts
  • Handwritten/personal brands → Script fonts

Step 2: Pick a secondary font

This font should complement your primary font while creating contrast.

  • Example: If your primary font is bold and playful, choose a clean, simple font as a secondary one.

Step 3: Keep it simple

Don’t overcomplicate things. Stick to two or three fonts max:

  1. Heading font – Eye-catching and bold
  2. Body font – Simple and easy to read
  3. (Optional) Accent font for a unique touch

Pro Tip: Use Google Fonts for free, high-quality fonts that work everywhere.
