Örban Boutique Hostel Visual Identity

Project Overview
Örban Boutique Hostel is a conceptual self-service boutique hostel located in the serene, design-conscious neighborhood of Sluseholmen, Copenhagen. Conceived as a passion project, this boutique hostel aims to blend affordable luxury with minimalist, functional design. With no need for on-site staff, guests experience a seamless stay—self-check-in with a code, access to rooms, and optional add-ons available through an app, making their visit as effortless as it is memorable.

The boutique hostel features 4-6 rooms, each with private bath and toilet facilities, focusing on privacy, comfort, and style. Guests can indulge in a drink from the self-service bar, make use of app-based check-out, and relish an atmosphere that speaks to both elegance and efficiency.

Design Approach
For Örban, I developed a brand identity that embodies modern Scandinavian aesthetics, reflecting a sense of tranquility and refined simplicity. Inspired by nature and minimalism, the design uses a muted palette of deep greens, soft neutrals, and off-whites, echoing the natural surroundings of Copenhagen’s waterfront.

The logo is crafted to evoke a sense of understated luxury—a monogram that suggests both symmetry and openness, anchoring the brand in a blend of elegance and functionality. Typography choices are clean and sophisticated, underscoring the hostel’s minimalist ethos, while the branding assets, such as key cards and tokens, create a cohesive experience, from entry to exit.

Outcome
The final visual identity creates a welcoming yet exclusive ambiance that allows Örban to stand out in the boutique hospitality sector. The brand feels grounded, reflecting the self-service model while ensuring every touchpoint—from drink tokens to key cards, communicates both quality and ease. Although a conceptual project, Örban Boutique Hostel is fully envisioned to provide guests with an intuitive and aesthetically pleasing experience, embodying the spirit of modern Copenhagen.
